The Gap School continues Amy Falk Weinberger's tradition of blazing trails in the education community. Amy founded the Thinking Center, a training and tutoring company, in 1991 in Sarasota, Florida which has evolved into a major forerunner in educational excellence as an assessment and intervention center. The center has guided learning changes for over 3,000 students, families, and teachers locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The Gap School was developed and is energized by the latest brain research, the best practices of educational research programs and additional key disciplines that assist students and families to succeed where they might have failed.

The Gap School provides a school-year intervention plan and measurable solutions. The Gap School is supportive of the congressional intent of No Child Left Behind and the significance of the reauthorization of the landmark IDEA special education legislation. These two pieces of legislature enormously influenced the Gap School's emphasis on a neuro-develpmental approach to discovering learning gaps and providing the means to close these gaps.

The constant mission of The Gap School is to create a customized student success plan and to offer the best possible interventions to meet that plan and to close the gap of learning for each student..
