Math Curriculum
Students who place in K – 2nd grade curriculum will study and master addition, subtraction and multiplication facts as well as perform the following:
- Numbers
- Measurement
- Geometry
- Patterns
- Data Analysis
Students who place in 3rd – 5th grade curriculum will also study and master addition, subtraction and multiplication facts as well as perform the following:
- Place value
- Count money and make change
- Tell time to the nearest minute
- Learn additional geometry terms and uses
- Problem Solving
- Investigate the base-ten number system
- Develop strategies for performing computations mentally
- Examine prime and composite numbers
- Make simple measurement conversions of units
- Solve multi-step problems
- Investigate perfect squares and their roots
- Work with frequency tables, circle graphs, line graphs, and double bar graphs
If your ability tests out for 6th through 8th grade, you will review addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts for mastery. Analyze the steps in standard and non-standard algorithms for computing with fractions and decimals Students will also complete the following:
- Problem solving
- Continue learning Geometry concepts
- Address algebraic expressions, linear equations
- Use technology to analyze change
- Make predictions using data, tables, graphs and experiments.
- Extend knowledge of the real number system
- Percents and integers
- Simple quadratic equations
